First Church Of Christ, Scientist, Dorking

Welcome to our site

Our church is one of many worldwide branches of The First Church of Christ, Scientist in Boston, USA, which was established by Mary Baker Eddy in 1879. Its purpose is to re-establish spiritual healing through scientific prayer.

In her book entitled Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mrs Eddy sets out her discovery of the Christ Science which Jesus taught and practised. This book was first published in 1875 and has sold over 9 million copies.
